General FAQ – e-Learning
How is the content delivered?
Our e-Learning courses provide participants with a self-paced learning experience. Courses can be hosted on an institution's VLE/LMS or learning platform as a SCORM package. Alternatively, individuals can purchase and access the courses on our Digital Learn platform.
Please note: Introduction to Fellowship may be purchased individually or bulk access via our Digital Learn platform but is not available to purchase for institutions to host on their learning platform.
Can the e-Learning courses be customised?
There are plenty of opportunities to customise your version of our e-learning courses when integrating these into internal learning platforms. With an institutional license, your version of a course can be enhanced with supplementary materials, such as introductory videos and links to relevant policies, resources, and support services, all housed within your learning platform.
If the language used by institutions differs from that within the course, a terminology disclaimer can be added on the learning platform, which appears before participants begin the course.
Institutions may also create internal evaluations, assessments, or certificates of completion within the learning platform for participants who finish the course. We recommend that you contact your learning platform provider for more information on implementing these additional materials.
Please note that the courses themselves cannot be customised. Select courses also offer downloadable supporting documentation, enabling participants to reflect on their learning. Institutions can supplement these with their own documentation in their learning platform, outside of the course.
How is the e-Learning provided for institutional license purchases?
For institutional licenses, the course can be exported and hosted on an institution’s LMS/VLE or learning platform in the following formats:
- cmi5
- xAPI (Tin Can)
- SCORM 2004
- SCORM 1.2
- AICC
We highly recommend institutions test the course on their learning platform before distributing it to participants. Please note that we cannot provide technical assistance for implementing the training courses on an institution learning platform, such as remote access or testing.
If purchasing an institutional license, how long will it take to receive the course?
Once the contract is signed and export details have been provided for integrating to your internal learning platforms, the course will be delivered within 2-3 weeks, depending on workloads.
How often is course content reviewed and updated?
Advance HE is committed to supporting the sector through changing legislation and cultural issues. To ensure our e-learning courses have up-to-date content, our subject matter experts conduct reviews on an annual basis. For institutional licenses, in case of any changes mid-contract, we contact contract holders offering the latest version of the course, highlighting changes made. There will be no charge to upgrade to the updated version.
If purchasing an institutional license, does the license cover use for all staff at an institution (i.e. no limit of numbers)?
For institutional licenses, the course can be exported and hosted on an institution’s LMS/VLE or learning platform, allowing unlimited access for participants. However, please consult with your learning platform provider to check for any restrictions on the number of users.
Do participants receive a certificate of completion?
Institutions with an institutional license may develop their own certificates of completion for participants, provided their VLE/LMS or learning platform supports this feature.
Individuals purchasing the course on our Digital Learn platform will receive a certificate of completion upon successfully finishing the course and providing feedback.
How long do I get access to the course?
This varies from course to course. For individual purchase and institutional licences, please refer to the individual course pages on this website for more information on duration of access and license terms.
How do the e-Learning courses meet accessibility compliance?
Our e-learning courses are developed using Articulate Rise. Courses purchased for individual access are hosted on Digital Learn (Moodle).
