A conference brought to you by the Networking and Innovation in Healthcare Education Committee and Advance HE.

The NET Conference has been running for over 30 years and has become the leading UK and International conference for networking in healthcare education. Over the years, it has fostered national and international collaborations in research and education development.

We welcome healthcare education professionals from diverse disciplines, including but not limited to: nursing, midwifery, medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, radiography, dentistry, veterinary sciences, psychology, paramedicine, speech and language therapy, social care, social workers and other allied health professions.

Call for papers

We invite healthcare educators in the UK and internationally to submit abstracts for sessions at the forthcoming Healthcare Educators NET Conference 2026: "Practice ready: journeys, transitions, and professional growth".

Through the five themes outlined below, the conference will explore journeys, transitions and professional growth across healthcare education. As this year’s conference will take place fully virtually, it also offers an opportunity to consider the creative and innovative ways in which the sector is responding to a fast-changing educational landscape.

Professor Arunangsu Chatterjee
Professor Arunangsu Chatterjee is Dean of Digital Transformation and Professor of Digital Health and Education at the University of Leeds, where he is responsible to the delivery of the University's digital transformation strategy, working to translate innovation into sustainable, measurable improvement. His academic work sits at the intersection of health and education technologies, with a focus on how emerging digital innovations, such as AI, robotics and extended (immersive) realities (XR) can build capability and enable more personalised, context-sensitive learning and care in complex systems such as universities and the NHS. In his keynote, he will draw on a long-standing commitment to technology enhanced learning, underpinned by self regulated learning and adaptive, learner centred design, to explore how healthcare educators can translate innovation into measurable educational and patient centred impact as people transition across roles and professional identities.

Professor Lisa McKenna is Director of the Health Professions Clinical Education Unit and Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at La Trobe University where, she was previously Dean for over 9 years. Lisa is a passionate Registered Nurse and Midwife with postgraduate qualifications in business administration, education and history. She is a Fellow of the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) and Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE).
