This project is a collaboration with Leeds Trinity University’s Race Institute (LTU RI) and Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY). The Race Institute aims to improve the experiences of racialised minorities in the public, private and voluntary sectors through research, CPD and knowledge exchange. It emerged from the need to keep anti-racism on the national agenda to enable sustained transformational change. GHWY is a partnership of 13 HE providers in West Yorkshire, bringing together HE-in-FE providers of varying size and scope, universities across all HE mission groups, and a conservatoire, with the aim of reducing student lifecycle inequalities.
This project was funded by Advance HE's Collaborative Development Fund and looks at how institutions can build and develop their outreach activities with racially minoritised groups which is 'culturally competent'. As part of the project, GHWY hosted a collaborative training day at Leeds Arts University to support the development of staff as inclusive practitioners.
