Disabled Students' Commitment: Year One report

The Disabled Student Commitment was launched by the Disabled Students’ Commission in April 2023, an independent group with a remit to inform, influence and challenge the nature of support provided for disabled students in HE. It is a voluntary, non-regulatory scheme that allows higher education providers to show the progress they are making supporting disabled students.

The Commitment encourages providers to self-audit, with their students, any gaps in delivery, to action these and make progress in a way that shares expectations with their disabled students. It is adaptable to individual contexts, including their starting point and available resourcing. The Commitment also calls upon sector bodies, regulators and Government to show the progress they are making with regards to improving support for disabled students.

The below report summarises the impact of the Commitment in it's first year.
