Harnessing the power of AI and VR to enable students to explore their potential education and career pathways for addressing global sustainability challenges.
Digital technologies pose both challenges and opportunities to established teaching approaches in the UK and globally, pressuring educators to rethink how best to deliver teaching and assessments. This project explores current and future approaches to enhance teaching through AI and virtual reality (VR) technology. In two stages, the project firstly investigates the current use of AI and VR by educators using a survey and interviews; with outputs developed focusing on sharing knowledge and best practices. Secondly, through two workshops, the project will utilise AI and VR in helping students better understand complex academic progression and post-university pathways. With an emphasis on career pathways that fall into the interface of disciplines, such as careers solving global sustainability challenges, the purpose of these in-person workshops is to support undergraduate students in developing a stronger and more tangible understanding of their future career pathways.
This will be supported by INIT creative.

Share your perspectives
Education is being affected by AI and we’re really interested in capturing educator perspectives on this topic – even if you’re not using AI. We are exploring the use of AI in Education and are reaching out to educators to complete our survey on the topic. This survey is aimed at ‘educators’, who we have loosely defined as those involved in activities relating to the planning, design, delivery and management of teaching or assessment(s).
