Overview
Join us at the Advance HE Student Engagement Conference on April 10th, 2025, at The Eastside Rooms, Birmingham as we come together as a community to share best practice, discuss challenges and identify opportunities to enhance how we create the right environments for our students to be successful.
The programme will include 8 institution-led workshops designed to showcase excellent practice and provide practical advice as to “what works” within the following themes:
- From student engagement to student development: How do we translate student engagement into measurable learning gain? Key words: impact, evaluation, student development, learning gain, theory of change, data driven approaches.
- Creating safe spaces for development: Classroom management, freedom of speech, managing contentious topics in learning spaces.
- Harnessing engagement from employment: Engaging with students who spend time in paid employment, caring and/ or commuting. How do we help students’ development through their non-study responsibilities and make the connections to their studies?
- Engaging effectively when students spend less time on campus: Ensuring there is an effective approach that reflects changing campus use and is focused on development opportunities for all.
Building on previous Advance HE Student Engagement Conferences we aim to support delegates and presenters showcase best practice to the community of practitioners in this space.
