This practical workshop covers the governance of partnerships and TNE, including sector-wide context, risk, assurance and escalation, with tools for board oversight and periodic review. It addresses the assurance of subcontracting and franchising arrangements in line with regulatory requirements, accountability and risk assurance through realistic scenarios such as geopolitical conflicts and ensuring strategic alignment with the institution’s overarching mission, long-term business case and strategic goals.
This session is designed for governors and governance professionals.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will understand the board’s role and responsibilities and the questions the board should be asking to ensure appropriate challenge, approaches to clarifying the board and executive boundary and appropriate structures, and partnership frameworks for seeking assurance and managing risk and opportunity across franchise arrangements, joint degrees and industry links.
