An important route to employ more female academics is to support the careers of existing postdoctoral researchers within the department. In 2018, female researchers were successful in obtaining Lecturer posts within the Department. They had originally been appointed as postdocs, and then subsequently as independent fellows, prior to obtaining their lectureship positions.
