This presentation aims to turn the deficit model of international students on its head. It is my contention that in the UK it is not the international students who have a problem with internationalisation it is the home students who are missing out on the benefits of internationalisation who have a problem. We need more of our home domiciled students to understand the benefits of working with their international colleagues to aspire to be a little more like them in their attitude to their studies and to take advantage of the opportunity to develop social networks with international peers as they study.
