Breaking down the walls: developing intercultural competencies

This project explored student and staff perspectives of Internationalisation at Home (IaH) through examination of the curriculum and staff/student student/student relationships in the international classroom and multicultural group working. It also aimed to create an inclusive learning environment through the development of curricular and extra-curricular activities to engage all students with the internationalisation agenda.

The Higher Education Academy has funded a number of TDG projects on the theme of internationalisation of learning and teaching in four rounds of funding.

Round 1 – Individual
Round 2 – Departmental
Round 3 – Individual
Round 4 – Collaborative

These projects have helped to support international students studying in the UK as well as encouraging UK students to be more internationally aware and to make the most of opportunities overseas.
