Recognising the importance of the first year experience in students' future learning and motivation this project undertaken through the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at LJMU sought to radically transform the induction process by moving from a one week induction to a 5 week transition into HE. This case study is part of a series of linked case studies looking at different aspects of the process. An evaluation of the process was also undertaken. This case study presents how the induction process and curriculum was changed to a longer period of transition.
