Developing skills for successful international groupwork

The Higher Education Academy in partnership with UKCISA funded twenty ‘Connections’ pilot projects in 2012 on the theme of internationalisation of learning and teaching. The projects aimed to make connections between different departments services and institutions and with local communities. They helped to support international students studying in the UK as well as encouraging UK students to take opportunities overseas and on their home campuses to be more internationally aware.

This project aimed to address some of the challenges faced by both international and home students in group work situations. It also sought to explore and overcome the fact that some home students express a 'deficit model' perception of international students.
