Emergent Practices In Entrepreneurship Education For Creatives City College Manchester Case Study

The Emergent Practices In Entrepreneurship Education For Creatives pedagogic research project is a study of creative enterprise education with the aim of identifying best practice and the most effective entrepreneurship education for Art and Design students. At the core of this research was the desire to support and enhance Higher Education Institutions in meeting the Government agenda to increase collaboration between business and academia in the creative sector.

Eleven case studies were created as part of the project of which this resource is one. This case study details The Virtual Company an initiative set up by City College Manchester. The Virtual Company is an initiative used to manage and deliver a wide range of training and work experiences opportunities innovative training and education solutions and business incubation. It aims to manage and deliver a wide range of training and work experience opportunities for students and to make it possible for a wide range of businesses and freelancers to benefit from working with further education. The iniative serves students from four Higher Education courses: HND Graphic Design HND Multimedia Design FD New Media Design and HND Applied Arts.
