Employability: A university-wide responsibility but to what extent do our programmes develop graduate attributes valued by students and employers? - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Ever wondered what employability attributes an Engineer a Geologist and a Physiotherapist share? When these are developed and if they are valued? These are the questions that prompted this fascinating project run across the Schools of Engineering Earth Sciences and Healthcare at Cardiff University. The project explored which generic employability attributes students across 4 different programmes felt they had developed after the first year which they valued the most/least and which they felt future employers were interested in. The results were intriguing and prompted us to ask whether we do enough to really embed “employability” across our Professional programmes?
