Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) the NHS has a legal obligation to make reasonable adjustments for the disabled. However the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID) frequently receives examples of situations where deaf and hard of hearing people experience communication difficulties within the NHS. This project led by Kieran McGlade aimed to address some of these issues.
