Enquiring in educational settings

This strand of the 'Partnership for Professional Enquiry' conference May 2007  is based on the portfolios and reports written by practitioners on professional enquiries carried out in their schools. This strand looks at aspects of enquiring as both an activity initiated in a single classroom and as a collaborative venture carried out by a group of practitioners.

Living with enquiry

  • What implications does increased pupil 'ownership' have for the enquiry process?
  • How do the ethics of enquiry affect the classroom as a learning environment?
  • Does the collection of a portfolio of evidence for the Standard influence the structure of professional enquiries?

Mapping the process of enquiry

  • How can we encourage and support practitioners in undertaking professional enquiry?
  • How can we describe an organisational culture that allows professional enquiry to flourish?
  • In what ways can professional enquiry facilitate connectivity between Universities and Schools?
