Ensuring quality assurance: workplace experience and higher education

This case study details a work placement module that is a compulsory element of the Substance Misuse Studies degree at Bangor University which students normally undertake at the end of the first year. The module is carried out at the employer’s residential detoxification unit. The main aims are to enable students to observe learn and reflect on their experience while also providing the opportunity to link practice and skills with underpinning knowledge and theory gained on earlier modules undertaken in their first year.

This case study is presented in English and Welsh.
