This paper is an informative study of how student teachers make sense of their experiences: what they learn in schools what they learn in higher education institutions how they transfer knowledge between contexts and how they manage all the differing demands upon them. It considers aspects of 'good' practice as described by mentors and tutors in a range of institutions and from different locations within the UK.
