Evaluating the impact of assessment familiarity and preference on student experience and attainment

This was a multimethod longitudinal research project which explored the impact of assessment familiarity and preferences on student attainment and experience. The project measured participants’ familiarity with and preferences for eleven different methods of assessment and explored the relationships between these and perceived and actual learning assessment satisfaction and overall student experience as measured by the National Student Survey.

The Higher Education Academy has funded a number of TDG projects on the theme of internationalisation of learning and teaching in four rounds of funding.

Round 1 – Individual
Round 2 – Departmental
Round 3 – Individual
Round 4 – Collaborative

These projects have helped to support international students studying in the UK as well as encouraging UK students to be more internationally aware and to make the most of opportunities overseas.
