An exploratory study into university lecturers’ perceptions regarding the introduction of the flip-curriculum: Fool’s gold or golden egg? - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The aim of this investigation is to research a University lecturer’s perception of how their role may change and also what new skills they may need to develop for teaching students using the Flipped Classroom. Objective 1 – How do lecturers perceive their role in the Flipped Classroom?  (e.g. designing homework for students before lesson developing in-class group work activities supporting ill-prepared students in class). Objective 2 – What new educational technology skills does the lecturer feel they need to develop for teaching in the Flipped Classroom? (e.g. developing online video sessions online VLE quizzes providing group work feedback using forums etc).
