Extracting useful information from the UK's National Student (Satisfaction) Survey

Presentation from the June 2010 Higher Education Academy Annual Conference.

This presentation explores approaches to robust interpretation of NSS data using returns from science and engineering programmes. The presenters argue that consistent subject-grouping differences in satisfaction levels reduce the usefulness of NSS outputs for between-subjects and university comparisons. National trends of low satisfaction with feedback and factors that moderate overall satisfaction are also debated.
