The Future of Higher Education - Teaching and the Student Experience

This paper aims to provide a reference point for policy decisions about teaching and the student experience over the next 10-15 year period.

Whilst highlighting the provision of outstanding teaching and internationally competitive student experience it addresses the need to extend the student base. It discusses student expectations of Higher Education how they have changed and how institutions and academics are responding to this for example with better use of ICT investment and engagement. It identifies the challenges for maintaining and improving the quality of the student experience especially highlighting the need to increase investment in infrastructure and quality of teaching staff. Finally it proposes recommendations for ways in which these challenges might be overcome.
