This case study describes an initiative undertaken at Glasgow School of Art as part of the HEA's Recognising Teaching Excellence Change Programme.
Our ReTE project was conceived as reflecting our ethos to “foster the conditions for creativity in order to promote critical thinking experimentation discovery and innovation. Our distinctive pedagogy and research promote studio culture as the basis for creative communities the meeting ground for diversity of opinion independence of thought and learning from each other.” Supporting staff to champion this ethos and recognising their contribution when they do so is vital. Our ambition is to “be recognised for the quality of the student experience and the impact of our graduates” and we recognise that to achieve this requires leadership and change at all levels.
