How can we use feedback to help students clarify things they don't understand?

London South Bank University- Responding to the National Student Survey in the Disciplines Change Programme

The NSS rated parts of the Social Work programme at LSBU poorly; specifically students said that they wanted more academic support and feedback. Before deciding the area where this research would focus recent graduates were contacted to highlight the specific areas that this might cover. Results from this indicated that the dissatisfaction relates particularly to lack of consistency between academics in providing information and insufficient face-to-face contact with lecturers.
