"If we miss a deadline we get 40. If they miss a deadline they still get paid". Discuss.

A paper from the HEA Annual Conference 2008.

This paper explores student expectations of timely feedback amidst widespread perceptions of the power of student-as-consumer. It argues that relations of power are skewed in favour of teaching staff as regulators of achievement. Conflicting student/staff viewpoints about feedback create a culture of blame and may prevent improvements in assessment practice.
