IMA Programme Approval Scheme update

On January 1 2003 the IMA separated Corporate Membership (Member and Fellow namely MIMA and FIMA) from Chartered Mathematician (CMath) status. The aims of this action were twofold. Firstly the change will raise the standards and status for CMath requiring an honours degree of at least three years duration in which the mathematics content represents two-thirds or more of the course (or its equivalent) together with five years of further training and experience in responsible work that involves the use of mathematical knowledge
