The impact of socio-cultural factors and contemporary patterns of employment on students' career aspirations self-efficacy and motivation levels

A presentation from the HEA Annual Conference 2012.

We present the findings of a five year longitudinal project which using a large scale survey and in-depth interviews captured the views of undergraduate music students studying at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. We focus on the impact of socio-cultural factors upon the aspirations that advanced music students formulate and their motivation to pursue these aspirations.
