Increasing employability for health care students: An evaluation of an assignment to develop collaborative research skills - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Practising health care professionals are now expected to have a research role often best developed in collaboration with other members of an investigative team.  At University College London we have developed a new formative assignment designed to develop foundation collaborative research skills at the beginning of the degree course leading to recommendation to practise as a speech and language therapist.  This project evaluates the assignment in terms of whether it has helped students to: master skills in library searching and using citation managers; develop academic writing and reading skills and develop collaboration skills with fellow students and researchers
