A presentation from the TIS International Conference - Internationalisation of Pedagogy and Curriculum in Higher Education: Exploring New Frontiers June 2011.
This session examines educational systems and pedagogical practices in the Chinese classroom as factors influencing the development of academic writing at postgraduate level and points to the implications of this for those working with Chinese postgraduate students internationally.
This paper is based on ethnographic research study which involved the examination and observation of cultural and social language materials and contexts and included surveys of high school and university students in China and Chinese postgraduates in Australia.
