Integrated annual monitoring (IAM)

The University of Hull is embarking on a root and branch programme of curriculum reform encompassing the academic framework the learning and teaching experience and curricular offer. Central to these changes is a programme level approach to learning and teaching and a move away from the dominance of the module as a key unit of planning and delivery.

The University is beginning to develop its quality assurance and enhancement process to support the development and ongoing enhancement of the new curriculum. A recent example is a pilot of the institutes new approach to annual monitoring using module level progression data as the basis for informing 'tiered' reporting at module programme and department level. The pilot found that while module level reporting had been useful in managing modules module reports had generally not been used to inform programme level monitoring and therefore had minimal impact on the wider student experience.
