It Wasn't Just a Fashion Show - Demystifying the Myth of HE institutions and Non-Traditional Learners

 The 'Enslaved' project was a high profile collaborative event held to commemorate the 200th year Abolition of Slavery supported by University of the Arts London Widening Participation unit AimHigher and Tate Britain. A curriculum was devised to incorporate the notion of 'slavery' within a programme of learning that tackled widening participation. As most of the students were predominantly black; retention; student expectations and issues of identity and race within an artistic context were important considerations.
