The aim of this presentation is to showcase the creative use of simulation suites in order to promote authentic student learning.  Specifically this presentation will explore the educational benefits and limitations of using simulation suites to assess and develop Social Work students’ communication and interviewing skills.  These will be supplemented by the use of digital recording of simulated practice exercises to provide opportunities for self-assessment formative feedback from academic /tutors and service users and carers. The case study is drawn from Social Work but clear links to the role simulation suites can play in developing learning across disciplines will be emphasised
