Learning Based on the Process of Enquiry Conference

This paper was presented at the 'Learning Based on the Process of Enquiry Conference'; 2003 and is dedicated to the idea of Enquiry Based Learning (EBL).

The term "enquiry-based learning" refers to forms of learning driven by a process of enquiry. The approach is intended to foster collaborative learning and deep engagement with complex problems. EBL incorporates structures and forms of support to help and encourage students working together to create and conduct their own enquiries for learning. While there is an overlap with problem-based learning EBL is perhaps more open to divergent ways of thinking about problems more open to exploring and understanding different ways of perceiving the world and less concerned with providing firm solutions to problems that do not have simple or unique solutions.
