This project set out to enhance the quality of lecturers’ learning in Lesson Study; to improve the quality of students’ learning opportunities in seminars/lectures; to evaluate Lesson Study as a vehicle both for examination of the pedagogic black box and for development of lecturers’ reflective practice and also to consider how to create a learning community within the group inclusive of all participants rather than simply attempting to enculturate international students to an ‘English’ academic setting.
