On-line quizzes providing formative feedback: more valuable than seminar attendance and prior study?

The paper examines the very significant impact of optional formative on-line quizzes introduced into a large traditionally taught first year undergraduate module. Quiz attempts proved a better predictor of success than any other factor identified and the impact was maintained throughout the students' studies. Can the results be replicated?
