This project will generate ways to promote student confidence in handling quantitative data for the purposes of studying an international economy. Three new and original student-centred case studies will be created. Each of the three studies will enable students to blend empirical data with economists’ standard concepts and analytical techniques.
The studies will include international comparisons of housing markets government finances and rates of economic growth. The project will address a gap in the resources currently available for adopting an issues-based or problem-based approach for teaching data analysis in the light of economic principles particularly in the later stages of HE Level 1 Economics.
These case studies in data search management and economic interpretation aimed at first-time students of economics. They are downloadable in Word format with embedded links for you to adapt print and/or put in a virtual learning environment.
