Mathematics teaching & learning and XML

A previous project (the author’s MSc dissertation) investigated the potential for dynamic production of Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) by creating an online assessment system using PHP. The author has enrolled as a research student to continue this work and to investigate the application of other eXtensible Markup Language (XML) technologies to mathematics teaching and learning. This document will outline some of the ideas connected with this new project.
