National Student Survey of Teaching in UK Universities: Dimensionality Multilevel Structure and Differentiation at the Level of University and Discipline: Preliminary Results

This paper is a preliminary analysis of the National Student Survey (NSS) at discipline and university level.

The report evaluates the factor structure implicit in the design of the NSS responses (Teaching Assessment and Feedback Academic Support Organisation and Management Learning Resources Personal Development) as well as more complex multilevel analyses to explore the replicability of the structure and proportions of variance that can be explained by background variables at the level of the individual student discipline (discipline groups within each university) and the university.
