A new national framework and programmes for social work continuing education: Critical reflections on the first phases of implementation in Wales: A case study - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Wales has established a single national framework for the continuing professional education of qualified social workers.  This session aims to: critically reflect on early implementation of the three programmes that deliver the framework in order to help understand the key characteristics challenges and opportunities such a co-ordinated and commissioned approach to post-qualifying education can bring. 2. analyse how collaborative delivery across higher educational institutions complex partnerships with employers developing distance and on-line learning and ensuring a ‘practice-rootedness’ are critical considerations for effective delivery. The overall objective is to place these deliberations within the context of pedagogical and policy discourses
