Out of Range

PALATINE has recently been investigating in response to requests from colleagues the awarding of grades in performing arts subjects in order to obtain some idea of general custom and practice across the sector. A brief questionnaire was distributed to members of the performing arts subject association mailing list. Colleagues were asked to provide information about the awarding of grades in the top 15% of the range of possible marks (85%). They were also invited to comment on working criteria and grading descriptors and wider assumptions currently being made in assessment both implicitly and explicitly.
