P25: Professional Doctorates in the Built Environment: How Higher Education is responding to the Changing Needs of Industry and the Professions.

The paper introduces the concept of the professional doctorate and distinguishes it from other forms of doctoral award including the PhD.  It traces the rapid development of the professional doctorate and its recent appearance within built environment schools.
