Pathology field trip: threshold concepts and the transfer of learning

This case study details a field trip for first year biomedical students at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) to a pathology lab. The aim of the field trip was to enable the students to experience the subject first hand and be exposed to the working environment that they would be likely to go into after graduating.
