This provocation is to stimulate consideration of different pedagogies and approaches to curriculum design and delivery to invigorate Engineering and Technology Education. Engineering is vital for the resolution of the world’s ongoing challenges yet it faces its own challenges in terms of recruitment of students especially females. Ideas are gaining momentum in the UK and elsewhere for innovative curricula but arguably change is slow given the pace at which societal needs are growing. Can Engineering benefit from closer dialogue with Design and Arts based curricula putting ‘A’ in to STEM (ref. John Maeda President Rhode Island School of Design)?
