The resources below provide you with the guidance and resources you need to start your application for Associate Fellowship using the new Professional Standards Framework (PSF) 2023.
Please note that Advance HE will continue to accept applications against previous UKPSF 2011 until 31 December 2023. If you wish to apply using the UKPSF 2011 framework please do not use this guidance pack but click here for the UKPSF 2011 application guidance and information.
Our Fellowship Category Tool has been designed to help you reflect on your practice.
The tool consists of a set of statements that are aligned to the different PSF Dimensions of the Framework and Descriptors of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023). After you have answered a series of multiple-choice questions, which will take around 10-20 minutes, you will be shown your results and a PDF report summarising your responses will be sent to you via email.
A Code of Practice for Fellows
The Code of Practice is a set of principles and expectations for individuals gaining Fellowship. Advance HE defines ‘maintaining our professional practice’ as continuing to work in accordance with the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023) for teaching and supporting learning in higher education.
Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education 2023
Fully revised and streamlined, the PSF 2023 emphasises effectiveness and impact, inclusion and context, as fundamental aspects of practice. As a more inclusive Framework that recognises the critical role of context in which practice takes place, the PSF 2023 will be more accessible to all professionals with a role in teaching and/or supporting learning.
