Review of Maple 9.5

Maple is a package for doing all kinds of symbolic and numerical mathematics; it provides also interactive graphical representations of 3- dimensional plots including animation options. About 20 years ago I first used Maple to perform some analytic calculations in Riemannian geometry and to output TEX code for an article but later became most familiar with it during the preparation of courseware and books for pre-calculus and calculus while at the University of Toronto. Later progress of the package through versions 7 to 9 over the last few years can be followed through the reviews in MSOR Connections [3 4 5 2] and in keeping with their practice concentration here is mainly on aspects relevant to undergraduate teaching. However the power and scope of Maple as a research tool in the mathematical sciences is unquestionable
