Review of the research literature on defining and demonstrating quality teaching and impact in higher education

This literature review by RAND Europe sought to investigate definitions of teaching quality within  pedagogic literature published since 2012.

The project sought to map the key concepts trends and demonstrable impacts emerging from the literature. It placed particular focus on identifying 'what works' - how teaching quality is demonstrated or operationalised through the student experience teacher performance and institutional approaches. Finally the review examined how ‘teaching quality’ is currently measured.
