Degree apprenticeships provide a number of opportunities to develop innovative approaches to curriculum design shifting the focus away from on-campus learning to the workplace. This new form of delivery places greater emphasis on the development of valid work-related curricula. To date the focus for the sector has been on delivery of the 20% ‘off the job’ learning. This session explores work undertaken at NTU on developing an immersive approach where thinking in course design is focused on integrating the 80% ‘on the job’ through work-based learning curriculum. Discussion will be used to generate considerations for optimal approaches to curriculum design.
