This project will facilitate a forum between departments of anthropology to focus on the relationship between teaching anthropology and remaining a financially viable institution. It will include the perspectives of institutional representatives (e.g. Vice Chancellor) staff and students (under-graduate and post-graduate) regarding the purpose and place of education. Through the divergent experiences of various universities more knowledge can be revealed about educational markets and anthropology in the UK. Although it is not expected that everyone will be willing to participate preliminary conversations university policy changes and media interest reveal a lot of interest in this subject such that it is anticipated that there will be high level of participation across most institutions.
