Towards an institutional understanding of employability for the part-time distance learner - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The OU is the biggest provider of distance and part-time higher education across all four nations of the UK.  Due to our unique student demographic employability for our students does not mean the same as employability for students from traditional face to face providers.  Set against the backdrop of the somewhat disputed employability metrics of the TEF this presentation sets out to describe our institutional journey (still very much a work in progress) towards developing embedding and realising a vision of employability which is both meaningful for our students and relevant to employers.
