Undergraduates as co-researchers and peer mentors to build resilience and problem solving skills - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Undergraduates gain from working in collaborative partnerships. This ongoing project aims to build small team resilience that develops problem solving skills for mentors and mentees. The objective is to improve self-efficacy and motivation to continue learning and research post-graduation. Mentors gain additional employment skills of workload planning troubleshooting and motivational leadership. They provided ‘blue sky thinking’ support. Mentees were supported to co-create custom made solutions. Each had a duty of feedback and peer support. Collectively they helped build an academic community where all were co-producers of knowledge and further developed their professional skills underpinned by research frameworks.
